This week and next the General Assembly is meeting again in Special Session to draw up a final budget for the Commonwealth of Virginia.  It is critical that they hear from all of us who care about protecting human life.  We need to remind them that we do not want to see any Virginia taxpayer funds going to abortion promoters like Planned Parenthood.

virglogobDuring this year’s General Assembly session the House passed three good amendments that extend protection from more taxpayer dollars being given to pro-abortionists.

Only a week ago, during the 2014 Special Session 1, the House voted again on a new budget proposal.

HB 5002 included the House pro-life amendments voted on during the regular session of the General Assembly.

  • 4-5.04 1h No Funds for Planned Parenthood, Inc., or Affiliates
  • 4-5.04 2h Continue Regulation of Abortion Clinics
  • 4-5.04 3h Conform Abortion Coverage to Federal Law, (the Hyde amendment)

The Senate will vote on the House budget next and will do so soon. Then the proposed budget will go back for a final vote in the House.  All the members of the Virginia General Assembly need to be contacted to support all three pro-life amendments included in HB5002 of the 2014 Special Session 1.

Please contact your Delegate and Senator and ask them to preserve the three amendments passed by the House.  You can find their contact information on the VSHL Website at this link.

When you contact your legislator, please ask them to help protect innocent human life by supporting the pro-life budget amendments and also ask them to support the passage of the “Pain Capable Unborn Child Act” next year!  We can do so much more to save unborn children’s lives if we pass this important law!

Thank you for taking the time to let our elected officials hear from the pro-life citizens of the Commonwealth.
