Members of St. Patrick’s Church in Iowa are upset and disappointed by a vandal who decided to destroy a pro-life sign located on the church property. The sign typically reads “Abortion Kills God’s Children,” in conjunction with the pro-life teachings of the church.

But a pro-abortion vandal spray painted the sign to cover enough letters to read “Kill God’s Children,” in what could be viewed as a threat on the members of the church.

KETV has the details on what happened:

vandalism21“It’s just kind of scary. It’s appalling what they did,” said the Rev. Mike Berner.

A parishioner discovered it after Sunday’s early mass. In the days since, Berner said there’s been frustration, even anger.

“This is our property. This is our church and that is our sign. Nobody has any right to fool around with it,” he said.

Berner said this is actually the second time someone has targeted this sign. He said whoever was responsible sent the same message with duct tape. The church filed a police report after the second strike, but investigators do not have much to go on.

“We’re all praying for you. We’re hoping for some conversion that you don’t feel the need to do this a third time,” Berner said.
