A woman from Colombia reported stomach pain to her physician and doctors determined she had inside of her a 40-year-old unborn child who had died internally.

The 82-year-old, from Bogota, had what is known as ‘lithopedion’ – otherwise known as a “stone baby.” That is a condition that happens when the fetus develops outside the womb. The mother will now undergo surgery to have the baby removed.

Dr Ramirez explained: ‘This happens because the fetus does not develop in the uterus because it has moved to another place.
