Baby Samuel was the recipient of prayers from tens of thousands of people in the last 24-48 hours. The tiny baby from Charleston, South Carolina Polycystic Kidney Disease, whom doctors diagnosed after he was rushed by ambulance to the hospital.

Doctors told Samuel’s mother and father the baby would die within five minutes of the umbilical cord being cut. Life in the womb had safely kept her baby alive. From there, it was truly in God’s hands.

Despite the prayers, the Lord called Samuel home last night, as conservative writer Breeanne Howe tells LifeNews.

“It is with great sadness that I report baby Samuel went to be with the Lord at 8:30pm last night,” she said.

“I know the family is so grateful for everyone’s prayers and I’m sure continued prayers will also be appreciated.  While he was only alive for twenty-four hours, each hour was truly a blessing as the family was only expecting to have five minutes with him after birth,” Howe added. “Personally, I count the prayers of so many as having a hand in the blessing of those precious hours. Knowing that his name reached so far in such a short amount of time brings me comfort and I hope it will for his family as well.”
