When do you know you should stick to acting? In the case of Molly Ringwald the answer is: when you don’t know the difference between a mayor and a governor.
On Tuesday night, the “Breakfast Club” and “Sixteen Candles” actress endorsed late-term abortion heroine Wendy Davis, but the elected position she made the endorsement for was a new one to readers of her tweet.
“Support this woman. The next governor of Houston, Texas,” Ringwald wrote.

While Houstonians are proud of their hometown and Texans have a history of forming their own governments, Texas’ biggest city has not yet seceded from the state and formed it’s own 51st state. The endorsement drew snarky responses from a number of conservatives on Twitter.
