Millions of Abortions Have Taken Place After 20 Weeks, Let’s Ban Them

Psalm 139:9 says, “For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb.” (NAS) God, the creator of the universe created us in the womb!

I believe that life begins at conception. Preborn children are in fact children, not merely fetuses and their lives should be protected from conception.

Yet, in America today, the most innocent among us are being savagely murdered in the womb.

According to LifeNews.com, in the 40 years since the Supreme Court ruled in favor of abortion in Roe v. Wade, over 55 million abortions have destroyed the lives of unborn children.

Millions of those abortions took place after 20 weeks gestation, when an unborn child has pain receptors all over his or her body and reacts to external stimuli by recoiling and emitting stress hormones. An abortion after twenty weeks gestation is inhumane and barbaric. It is a horrific way for any being to die.

As a nation, we have a compelling interest to protect the lives of the unborn, especially when substantial medical evidence now indicates that the child is capable of feeling pain during an abortion procedure.

Right now H.R. 1797, the “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act,” is scheduled to be voted on by the House of Representatives next week.
The “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act” will prohibit an abortion from being performed if the probable post-fertilization age of the unborn child is 20 weeks or greater – unless the mother’s life is in danger.

This bill is a huge step in a positive pro-life direction and gives these preborn children the unalienable right to life that they are endowed with by our Creator.

Take action today!

Walter, this is an urgent request for you to contact your New York representative and scores of other lawmakers in the House to help insure passage of this important bill.

Sponsored by Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ), right now the bill has over 180 co-sponsors, but over 40 more “yea” votes by representatives are needed to secure the passage of this bill in the House.

Due to the time constraints before the vote, getting our message to representatives will be accomplished best by utilizing Liberty Counsel Action’s highly effective fax barrage.

Imagine the number of lives that will be saved if this bill makes it into law! Everything you need to fax congress is one click away.

Americans opinions about abortions are changing!

In light of the Kermit Gosnell trial, Americans are becoming increasingly aware of the horrors of abortion – a procedure that gruesomely poisons and/or dismembers a living human being.

According to recent polls, over 60 percent of Americans would now favor a bill that would limit abortions after the first trimester – when a child feels the pain of the procedure!

Congressman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA), who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, said…

“The taking of innocent life is a practice all too common in this nation. The recent Gosnell trial reminds us that when newborn babies are cut with scissors, they whimper and cry, and flinch from pain. And unborn babies when harmed also whimper and cry, and flinch from pain. Delivered or not, babies are babies, and it has been shown that they can feel pain at least by 20 weeks. It is time to welcome young children who can feel pain into the human family. And this bill, at last, will do just that.”
