CNN’s Jake Tapper finally did a report on embattled abortion practitioner Kermit Gosnell on Friday — spending all of five minutes covering the “doctor” who killed dozens and dozens of babies in abortions/infanticides.

Friday evening is one of the least-watched times of the week in cable news, making it certain that fewer people saw the segment Tapper did compared with the number of viewers the show would normally receive in prime time on a weeknight.

During the program, Tapper referenced the grand jury report and the pill mill that finally ensnared Gosnell long after he botched one woman’s abortion that killed her and killed babies in so-called live-birth abortions that involved jamming medical scissors in their necks. He also played a clip from the documentary 3801 Lancaster.

Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Joseph Slobodzian appeared on the program and said the “evidence is certainly compelling” for a conviction of Gosnell in his murder trial and said employees “saw fetuses, babies, that were moving after the procedure, and that those babies were killed.”

But the reported attempted to gloss over the grisly details and paint a nice picture of the late-term abortion practitioner.

“Kermit Gosnell comes from a very well-established family in West Philadelphia,” he said. “From everything we’ve heard, he served the community. If you couldn’t pay, you got your medical care for free.”

Infanticide and abortion is now free medical care? That’s a new one.
