Former presidential candidate Rick Santorum will speak at the March for Life on Friday, January 25 and join pro-life marchers on the route to the Supreme Court.

This year’s March for Life will solemnly mark 40 years since the Supreme Court allowed virtually unlimited abortions throughout pregnancy for any reason via the Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton Supreme Court decisions.

Santorum, an outspoken defender of the unborn, will speak to marchers about his commitment to protecting the sanctity of life and fighting for the dignity of the most vulnerable in our society.

“I am looking forward to joining hundreds of thousands of Americans who believe that every life has value and every life must be protected.  We are a pro-life country, and the March for Life is an important opportunity for us to send a message to our elected officials that they must support policies that foster a culture of life,” the former Pennsylvania senator said.

Today’s announcement about Rick Santorum’s participation in the March for Life comes just days after it was reported that the nation’s largest abortion business Planned Parenthood received a record $542 million in taxpayer money during fiscal year 2012.

“Every life is precious, and I find it terribly disturbing to see that our government allocated more than half a billion dollars of taxpayer money last year to fund our nation’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood. This organization received $542 million of our tax dollars and performed more than 330,000 abortions.  As a pro-life advocate, I believe one life is too many and one dollar is too much to spend on this deadly procedure,” Santorum said.

Pro-life advocates are expected to turn out in force for the annual March for Life on January 25. Organizers say they are expecting a record turnout for the pro-life march to the Supreme Court, one that could eclipse the 400,000 that turned up for the March for Life two years ago.

Also, upset that pro-abortion President Barack Obama was elected to another four-year term to advance his abortion agenda, pro-life advocates are excited to stand up against the Obama administration shortly after he takes the Oath of Office the second time around. Combined with a lower-than-expected crowd for the Obama inauguration compared with the 2008 affair, the March for Life could outpace Obama’s event.
