An Iowa man is facing a misdemeanor charge after getting upset by a pro-life sign an elderly woman was carrying and attacking her and destroying the sign.

The Iowa City Patch newspaper has more on the incident with the woman, her graphic pro-life sign and the pro-abortion activist who went after her, and what has happened since:

Police were called yesterday morning to the intersection of Riverside Drive and Highway 6 for the report of a disturbance on the corner. When the officer arrived, a woman told him that she was holding a political sign at the corner when she was approached by a man — William Carl Kapp, 26, of Iowa City — who grabbed her sign from her hands and smashed it, according to the criminal complaint.

Police say Kapp admitted to smashing the sign because he was “overwhelmingly offended that children passing by would be subjected to the image” which he described as “horrific” and “obscene.” Kapp was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief for the offense, a serious misdemeanor.

Interestingly, the newspaper, in reporting on the incident, only featured a reaction from a pro-abortion resident upset that pro-life people would hold signs opposing abortion.

A video shows 77-year-old Donna Holman’s attacker saying he is proud to have destroyed the sign:
