With President Barack Obama, Planned Parenthood and Democrats in Congress now standing united against a ban on sex-selection abortions, several pro-life writers are drawing the conclusion that pro-choice now equals pro-gendercide.
Obama, the nation’s biggest abortion business and lawmakers in Congress are agreed that, if a right to abortion exists, that right means women ought to be able to select abortion for any reason without interference from the government — even if the reason is killing the unborn child because she is a girl and not a boy.
Calvin Freiburger, a writer at Live Action agrees:
On one level, this should be the final nail in the coffin for the idea that legal abortion was ever a pro-woman position. If terms like gender equality, feminism, and women’s rights don’t at the very least mean that you have the right not to be killed simply for being female, then they mean absolutely nothing. There can be no more egregious form of gender discrimination than killing a helpless, defenseless child who has committed no crime other than possessing the wrong chromosomes.
Having to buy your own birth control, thinking hard about parenthood before having sex, not being able to have your daughter killed…these don’t even begin to compare. This is the perversity of what modern liberalism has done to feminism: completely exchanging real goods like equal rights and dignity for phony “rights” that are superficial at best and destructive at worst – and not just to babies, but to mothers as well.
On another level, however, there is a necessary consistency to the Democrats’ position. If unborn babies aren’t people, if they’re really just subhuman body parts over which women have absolute dominion, then how can any reason for disposing of them be less tolerable than any other? Indeed, how can the ardent pro-abort afford to support gender-discrimination protection for fetuses when the mere admission that fetuses can be identified as male or female punctures the fantasy that they aren’t human?
Never has the emptiness of the “War on Women” theme been clearer. Pro-choicers exploit both sexism and fear of sexism for political gain, but their ideological commitment to abortion means they simply can’t be there for women’s actual rights when they’re needed most.
Another writer says Planned Parenthood’s “family planning” theme now includes planning whether a woman wants to have a boy or a girl.
The whole idea of Planned Parenthood is pretty obvious, given their name: Planned Parenthood. This is about “family planning.” That’s the situation depicted in Live Action’s videos: a woman has had a girl already and wants a boy. So if she’s pregnant with a girl, she wants to abort. That’s “family planning”: having how many children you want, of what sex you want (and how and with whom you want). Planned Parenthood exists to promote situations like the ones depicted in the videos. I don’t see how this is so contrary to everything their organization works for. This is exactly what their organization works for – getting your family just right.

Other abortion groups are even admitting that sex-selective abortions are happening. This is definitely happening in America, and that’s what these new videos prove.
The people at Planned Parenthood are convinced that they are somehow the ultimate champions of women, women’s rights, and women’s health, and these new videos seriously undermine that. Or imagine if they were aborting babies because they were predicted to be gay? Is abortion on demand, for whatever reason, really ok? No matter how many children you kill of in the process? No matter what Planned Parenthood says in response, these videos are making a lot of people very uneasy.
The reality is: Planned Parenthood exists out of the conviction that all people are not equal. Be it because of race, gender, class or creed…Planned Parenthood continues to operate under the eugenicist legacy of its founder, of eliminating “undesirables” from society. This is population control.
