White House Hijacks Mother’s Day for Pro-Abortion Agenda

On Sunday the pro-abortion White House hijacked the beauty of motherhood to act as if it were an advocate for the moms and babies. Placing an e-card on its website, the White House declared:

Being a mom isn’t a preexisting condition.

The irony is not lost on pro-lifers. The same administration that has sought to expand abortion more than any other administration in the history of our nation is now using a day celebrating the sanctity of motherhood to promote its political agenda.

Using the card to promote the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which currently is under deliberation by the United Sates Supreme Court regarding its constitutionality, the card is more an advertisement of the president’s signature legislation which may be partially sent to the shredder in June when the Court releases its decision.

The White House sent an email Sunday, as Fox News reports:

“As rewarding as being a mom can be, it sure isn’t easy. That’s part of why the Obama administration is taking steps to level the playing field for mothers and their families.”

At its best, the political campaign on Mother’s Day is an inappropriate gesture offering a backhanded compliment to the mother’s who drive this nation, the truth is, it’s rather despicable. One can only wonder what the president means by “leveling the playing field” when he’s managed to add unprecedented abortion coverage into the act which has un-leveled the playing field for the unborn.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act certainly makes abortion affordable by offering widespread American subsidized coverage. Quietly slipped back into the act, the abortion surcharge is a disturbing aspect of the plan which makes every taxpaying citizen of the United States culpable in the shedding of innocent blood by donating money to an abortion fund.

The same administration that has reversed many of the policies that are pro-life from its beginning, now hijacks a day that honors those who choose life by ironically promoting motherhood, while notably omitting the implied line “Sometimes motherhood is so hard and we understand you aren’t ready for it so we also will help you kill off your baby, but you know, if you want to keep it and you are ready and there aren’t any special reasons and the baby doesn’t have any diseases and you are absolutely positive sure you want this baby, then we’ll help you.”

The double-minded rhetoric coming from the Obama administration only helps support the fact that women aren’t the priority here. This is a political agenda to please a pro-abortion contingency and on Mother’s Day it was a chance to jump on the other side of the fence long enough to add to a few women’s votes. Let’s not be decided, however, because this isn’t the heart of an administration that advocates the unrestricted and nationally funded death of its young.

Let’s continue to pray for a spirit of wisdom and revelation (Ephesians 1:17-19) for the Supreme Court as it’s deciding this case, as well as for our presented and his administration, especially the Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.
