Supreme Court’s Obamacare Decision Has Big Abortion Impact

I wanted to share my remarks from the pro-life rally that Students for Life of America and Live Action did yesterday morning in front of the Supreme Court:

President Reagan once said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

Friends, this is why we are gathered here today.  Today, pro-life students from across the nation have gathered in our nation’s Capitol to declare, what national polls have already proven, that this is a ProLife generation and we will not stand by ad tyranny befalls on our nation.

Today, is the 2nd day of the Supreme Court’s hearing on Obamacare, an unconstitutional power grab by Congress and President Obama. If you recall, this landmark piece of legislation was passed in the Senate on Christmas Eve. In the House, we were were told that it had to be passed into law before we could know what was in it.  And after convincing a few Democrats who claimed to be pro-life to vote for their party and not the Preborn, President Obama made promises to the American people, promised he never he could fulfill, promises that taxpayers wouldn’t be funding abortion

Is it because of this piece of legislation that the Department of Health and Human Services now has the ability to shape the future of our nation and determine who lives and who dies in our society. And it is because if this unconstitutional piece of legislation, that HHS mandate just two months ago that now all Americans, no matter what their faith or conscience, must  pay for abortion causing drugs in their government mandated health insurance plan. This mandate includes every religious charity, every employer of conscience, and every university. Further, we have now learned that HHS has ruled that every American who will be in a federal health insurance exchange plan which covers abortion will be mandated to pay at least one dollar per month to pay for abortions, even if they are morally opposed to the barbaric procedure.

Because of this unconstitutional piece of legislation, the Obama administration has told all Americans that our beliefs, our conscience no longer matter. That the government can force it’s people to pay for drugs and procedures against their beliefs.

Friends, this is called tyranny. This is the type of tyranny that our forefathers fled from Europe and why our great nation was founded. It is this freedom that separates us from many other nations and dictatorships around the world which enslave their countrymen

Friends, today, we are here in front of the Supreme Court because their decision on the constitutionality of Obamacare will shape the future of this nation and the lives of all Americans. This is our generation’s Roe v Wad moment

First, the Supreme Court made the barbaric practice of abortion legal in all nine months of pregnancy, now they must decide if they will force all Americans to pay for it.

Those gathered here today to support the President and his plan for America are wrong,they are dead wrong. This isn’t about healthcare, improvement of quality or access, its about the future of our nation. Its about tyranny or freedom.

I truly believe that for our nation to survive, for our freedoms and individual liberties to survive, for us to survive, Obamacare cannot stand.

Today is the day, where all Americans, must draw a line in the sand and say “No More!” We will no longer remain silent, we will fight for the freedoms of all Americans, born and preborn, and we will stand against this unconstitutional injustice.
