Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, today announced more details of the fourth element of the four-pronged attack that Priests for Life is launching this year against the abortion industry. That part of the group’s main plan involves prayer against abortion.

“Prayer is the foundation of all we do,” Fr. Frank explained. “This year, we are expanding our prayer campaign (www.PrayerCampaign.org) and asking every Church to provide its congregation with the tools they need to pray each day for an end to abortion. In particular, we have special prayers throughout the year corresponding to the Feasts and liturgical seasons that many Christians observe. The prayer cards are offered to Churches free of charge.”

“Most immediately, this Saturday begins a Novena (a nine-day period of prayer) in preparation for the sad commemoration of Roe vs. Wade, which has resulted in more death and destruction than anything else. Prayer cards can still be ordered and the prayer downloaded at www.PrayerCampaign.org,” Fr. Frank stated.

Another aspect of the Prayer Campaign is the Facebook cause “Pray to End Abortion,” now at over 80,000 members. This cause can be accessed at www.ProLifePrayers.com.  Priests for Life will also invite people to become “Prayer Partners for Life” and to do such things as bring special pro-life prayer intentions to their pastors and to promote prayer resources that will be generated throughout the year.

These activities will be coordinated in such a way as to prepare for the 40th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade on January 22, 2013.

“Between now and then, we will launch several initiatives that will grow through the course of the year and culminate in a special commemorative service on the 40th anniversary of Roe. Multiple pro-life ministries from many denominations will co-sponsor that service, which will take place in Washington, DC. Now is the time,” Fr. Frank pointed out, “to intensify our prayer efforts as never before, that a weakened abortion industry may go out of existence altogether. That’s our goal, and we will reach it.”

Priests for Life has a revealed plans to target the abortion industry in 2012 that Pavone is confident will close many abortion facilities and place many abortion practitioners in jail.

“The approach,” Fr. Pavone explained, “is simple: a) uncover the ways abortionists break the law and get them punished for it; b) reveal the nature of the abortion procedure itself; c) show the harm abortion does to the very people the abortion industry claims to serve, and d) pray more intensely than ever for abortion to end.”

“Building on the work done by many other groups with whom we collaborate, we will begin this month to accelerate the investigation of abortion clinics, which break laws left and right. We will bring special attention to the ten abortionists in Texas who have to answer to the Texas Medical Board for numerous violations, and will see to it that they are held accountable,” Fr. Pavone explained.

“As I have said since I began my work with Priests for Life in 1993, our job is to exploit the weaknesses of the abortion industry, which is collapsing under its own weight. The evil it does cannot withstand the light of human conscience.”

In the coming weeks, Priests for Life will provide information to Churches across America, to pro-life groups, media outlets, and to the general public regarding the details of this four-pronged strategy. “We will also communicate to prison chaplains a simple message: get ready to see a lot more abortionists in the jail cells.”
