A car crashed into a Planned Parenthood abortion referral clinic this afternoon and authorities say they have no information yet as to what happened, though it appears to be accidental.

AP reports:

Police in a Philadelphia suburb are investigating a car crash into a Planned Parenthood clinic. The car smashed through the front of Planned Parenthood in Yeadon around 10:30 a.m. Monday. The clinic is located in the Parkview Shopping Center.

The cause of the crash is not yet known.

WCAU-TV reported that the female driver repeatedly said, “I don’t know what happened” as she was helped out of the car. She was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Authorities say that there are no reports of injuries to anyone in the building.

And WPVI says the woman in the crash is in need of medical attention.

It happened around 10:30 Monday morning at the Parkview Shopping Center on the 600 block of Cedar Avenue. Police say a 36-year-old woman hit the gas pedal accidentally while suffering some kind of medical episode. The car went up onto the side walk and into the large front window.

Police say she lost consciousness. While they were questioning her, she lost consciousness again. Medics transported her to Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital.

Planned Parenthood was not open at the time of the accident, but one employee was inside. That person was not injured.

This particular Planned Parenthood does not do abortions but, like all such centers, makes abortion referrals.
