Abortion’s Death Toll: 53 Million U.S., 400 Million in China

Being pro-life means dealing with the overwhelming macabre results of the abortion industry’s rampage on innocent human live.  The number of lives lost is beyond incredible: over 53 million in the U.S. since 1973.
More evidence that pro-abortionists deal casually with the truth about their deadly campaign is their constant charge that the pro-life movement is engaged in a “war on women.”
They might want to be more careful about who they accuse of waging a war since the casualties are piling up only on one side.
As tragic as the more than 53 million lives cut short in the U.S., there is the grim reality acknowledged by a former Chinese official during a congressional Budget Committee meeting.  The Chinese official stated that the population of China is 400 million fewer people than it would have been because of China’s one-child policy.
400 million! Population control in China, which has included coerced abortion and forced sterilization, has eliminated the equivalent of the entire U.S. population more than one and a quarter times over!  And given what we know about Chinese gender disproportion—far more boys than girls– one can only imagine how many of that terrible number were girls.
Evidence of pro-abortion insensitivity toward the death of innocent unborn girls does not stop there.
In case you missed it, in mid-August the AP news agency ran a story by Aleza Olesen with the incomprehensibly insensitive title “One-child policy a surprising boon for China girls.”  The article attempted to argue that, in spite of massive loss of female lives through abortion, the lives of women in China were improving.
What a snapshot of the kind of verbal and mental contortionists the pro-life movement is up against. It’s an argument of Orwellian proportions.
Consider also the recent bewildering statement by Vice President Joe Biden when he was visiting China: “Your policy has been one which I fully understand — I’m not second-guessing — of one child per family.”
That statement almost encapsulates the frightening mindset of the abortion industry: one that not only refuses to argue against taking innocent human lives but which also claims to fully comprehend it.
