Women leaders of pro-life groups and top pro-life women in Congress will join together on Thursday for a press conference where they will talk about how they want the abortion industry de-funded.

The event comes on the heels of new undercover videotapes showing staffers at six Planned Parenthood abortion clinics in three states – Virginia, New Jersey and New York – aiding alleged sex traffickers in getting abortions and STD testing for underage girls they indicates they were victimizing.

The press conference also follows on the heels of two Congressional hearings on the No Taxpayer Funding of Abortion Act and the Protect Life Act, bills to prohibit tax-financed abortions in all federal government programs and agencies and to remove any abortion funding concerns from the Obamacare health care law. Abortion activists have strenuously opposed the two bills with claims the measures hurt women, deny them certain rights or prohibit them from purchasing insurance that covers abortions with private premium dollars – none of which is true.

The Susan B. Anthony List, a pro-life women’s group, is sponsoring the press conference featuring members of the Pro-Life Women’s Caucus comprised of women from the House and Senate.

The press conference will call on pro-life advocates across the country to join representatives of 25 state and national pro-life groups under the umbrella of the new Expose Planned Parenthood coalition to seek passage of a third bill – the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act – which would ensure that no abortion business, including Planned Parenthood, is eligible for federal tax dollars under the family planning program.

The latest Planned Parenthood annual report disclosed receiving more than $363 million in government grants and contracts, including Title X funds, between 2008 and 2009. Over the same period, Planned Parenthood reported performing 324,008 abortions, the most it has ever performed.

Marjorie Dannenfelser, the president of the SBA List; Lila Rose, president of the group, Live Action, responsible for the new undercover videos; Penny Nance, the CEO of Concerned Women for America; and Congressman Mike Pence, the sponsor of the Planned Parenthood de-funding bill, will speak at the press conference.

They will be joined by Reps. Jean Schmidt of Ohio, Virginia Foxx of North Carolina, Vicky Hartzler of Missouri, Renee Ellmers of North Carolina, Ann Marie Buerkle of New York, and Andy Harris of Maryland.

“Based on what we have seen in these videos, Planned Parenthood clinics are not safe for women,” said Dannenfelser. “By defunding the organization of the hundreds of millions of tax dollars it receives each year, Americans will no longer be participating in its egregious activities.”
