Houston, TX (LifeNews.com) — The massive new abortion business Planned Parenthood opened in southeast Houston will face another large rally in opposition next week. Houston pro-life organizations are coming together on October 23 for an educational and inspirational event called Unite for Life.
Thousands of Houstonians marched against the Planned Parenthood abortion business in January.
The event will kick off at the Catholic Charismatic Center with a morning full of inspiring messages from leading pro-life advocates, including Eduardo Verástegui, the celebrated actor from the pro-life film Bella.
The gathering will culminate with a prayerful march to the new Planned Parenthood.
Motivated by the recent construction of a new Planned Parenthood in Houston, billed as the largest abortion business on the continent and one that does abortions up to the 25th week of pregnancy, organizers of Unite for Life hope to "not only inspire pro-life believers but to educate them on how to take action in their communities."
Mary Catherine Maxian, a medical doctor who is the president of Health Care Professionals for Life and chair of the Unite for Life event, talked about the importance of it in terms of motivating grassroots pro-life people.
"Unite for Life – Houston is designed to not only be motivational, but action-oriented," she told LifeNews.com. "Unite for Life – Houston allows people the opportunity to learn about the many different areas of the pro-life movement so that they can pick a niche that fits them."
"When we get all of the pro-lifers working together, praying together, voting together, and uniting our efforts with the will of God, the abortion industry will not stand a chance against us," she said.
Verástegui will be the keynote speaker and Maxian says he will draw in people concerned about women and unborn children,
"His pioneering pro-life message created the Bella Hero project, a plan designed to equip pregnancy care centers around the world with copies of Bella for women discerning abortion," she said.
Local Houston pro-life organizations, including Houston Coalition for Life, Texas Right to Life, Silent No More Awareness Campaign and Catholic Organization for Life, will be organizing and promoting the event.
