Wichita, KS (LifeNews.com) — The building that formerly house the abortion business run by late-term abortion practitioner George Tiller before his death is now up for sale. Tiller was shot and killed by Scott Roeder, a militia activist not content with stopping Tiller’s abortions by legal, peaceful means.

Tiller family attorney Lee Thompson told the Associated Press last week that the Wichita, Kansas-based building has been for sale for some time after Tiller’s family decided against keeping the abortion business open.

He said the family would not comment on the building’s status but tax records indicate it has a value of $734,100.

David Gittrich of Kansans for Life sent an email about the building to members of Thursday and indicated it is a possibility someone would purchase the facility to make a memorial for unborn children.

"Over 60,000 children were killed at 5107 E. Kellogg in Wichita, Kansas. That’s more than all the Americans who died in the Vietnam War," he said in the email LifeNews.com received.

"Some think we should buy the building and turn it into a Memorial for all the babies who lost their lives," he continued. "I’ve been to the Auschwitz and some of the other death camps in Poland. They are quite moving and memorable and sad."

"I’ve seen many, many memorials that have been erected all across the state of Kansas," he added, talking about some of the many he’s seen. "Many churches have built memorials on the grounds of the church to remind people of the continuing holocaust of abortion."

But Gittrich said the best expenditure of money from pro-life groups with limited resources might be to focus on continuing educational efforts.

"I’m not sure what, if anything, we should do about Tiller’s abortion clinic. I tend to think that we should spend our energy and resources on the continuing battle and keep our eyes on the goal of making abortion unacceptable, unthinkable, and unlawful," he said.
