Pro-Abortion President Barack Obama’s Approval Rating Hits New Lows

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) — A new USA TODAY/Gallup poll found pro-abortion President Barack Obama’s approval rating has declined to its lowest point since he took over the White House in January. Only 41% of those surveyed from last Tuesday through Sunday said they approve of how Obama is handling his job.

Gallup conducted a separate tracking poll that found his approval at 45 percent on Monday.

Political observer Rod Pennington says Obama’s numbers are significantly lower if the approval rating from black Americans is removed. And if they fail to show up in large numbers in the November elections, he says they could turn out to be a landside against Obama’s pro-abortion Democratic allies.

"What the poll fails to mention is the near universal support the President still enjoys among African-Americans which represent 14% of the population. If this support is subtracted from Mr. Obama, then he is somewhere in the range of 30% approval and 70% disapproval with all non-Blacks," he writes.

"Without President Obama on the ballot, if Blacks sit out this election cycle it could get ugly fast for the Democrats," he said.

In six recent polls released concerning Obama’s approval rating, he had a negative rating in five and saw those who approve and disapprove tied in the sixth.

The most recent poll, from Rasmussen Reports, had 46 percent approving of Obama’s job in office while 53 percent disapprove. That included 27 percent who strongly approve and 42 percent who strongly disapprove.

Pollster Scott Rasmussen says the overall picture for Obama is worse than the daily tracking polls reveal.

"When people get so caught up in the day-to-day fluctuations of the president’s ratings, they sometimes miss the bigger picture. To look at the longer-term trends, Rasmussen Reports compiles the numbers on a full-month basis," he explained. "President Obama’s Approval Index rating fell to a new low for the full month of July."

A recent Fox News poll has Obama at a new low as well with 43 percent approving and 50 percent disapproving of the pro-abortion president. Another 7 percent of voters are undecided.

Democrats give Obama a 80-15 percent approval rating, Republicans give him a 14-80 percent rating and independents give him a 36-56 percent rating. And on health care specifically, where Obama signed a pro-abortion bill into laws, Americans disapprove 41-55 percent.

The Fox News poll also found Republicans and independents more interested in the November elections.

Some 68 percent of independent voters are either extremely (44 percent) or very (24 percent) interested in the congressional elections. Another 66 percent of Republicans are extremely (36%) or every (30%) interested. And 59 percent of Democrats are extremely (23%) or very (31%) interested.
