Pro-Life Television Show Facing Life Head-On Receives Prestigious Emmy Award

Columbus, OH (LifeNews.com) — The weekly pro-life television program Facing Life Head-On received an Emmy Award at a recent awards ceremony in central Ohio. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences presented host Brad Mattes the award the Emmy statue Saturday evening at an awards ceremony in Columbus.
This weekly, half-hour TV program is available to well over 100 million households, presents compelling pro-life messages.
Facing Life Head-On received the regional Emmy for a television series that was the "best of the best" in the category of Interview and Discussion.
Obviously we’re quite thrilled by the honor, said Brad Mattes, host and executive producer of the program as well as the director of Life Issues Institute, an educational pro-life group.
I’m not aware of the pro-life movement receiving an accolade at this level by the media industry, much less the Academy. We’re absolutely delighted," he told LifeNews.com.
In his acceptance speech during the black-tie awards ceremony, Mattes thanked his television guests for being an inspiration to their viewers. He dedicated the award to the men and women in Afghanistan and Iraq who risk their lives and sometimes die to defend the freedoms we hold dear.
Rudy Harris, director of photography; Dylan Cahall, editor; and John Colmar; president of Zone Communication Group, the production company; attended the awards gala with Mattes.
Last October, the highly-regarded television show earned the Telly and Accolade awards.
The Telly Award honors the very best in local, regional and cable television programs, as well as the finest video and film production, and work created for the Internet. Today, the Telly is one of the most sought-after awards by industry leaders, from large international firms to local production companies and ad agencies and more than 11,000 entries were received for the 30th Annual Telly Awards.
The Accolade Award of Excellence is an internationally respected award which recognizes film, television and videography professionals who demonstrate exceptional achievement in craft and creativity, and those who produce standout entertainment.
The programs weekly message of life and hope is critical for America to hear right now, and the daily emails we receive from viewers show we’re really impacting their lives for the better," Mattes said after receiving those awards.
"All those associated with the program are thrilled to receive these awards from experts in the field of film and TV production," he added.
The program has exposed the relationship between Susan G. Komen for the Cure and Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion business.
It has also focused on the story of Tasha Danvers-Smith, the athlete from the United Kingdom who refused pressure to have an abortion.
