Sacramento, CA (LifeNews.com) — A national pro-life women’s group told LifeNews.com today it has launched a new $100,000 effort to reach Hispanics in California on behalf of pro-life Senate candidate Carly Fiorina. The Susan B. Anthony List’s education campaign is in conjunction with a $1 million effort headed by the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles.

The goal of the groups is to convey to Latino voters that Fiorina shares their pro-life values and beliefs.

“Poll after poll shows that the overwhelming majority of Latino voters call themselves pro-life and that Latino voters are comprising an increasing percentage of the voting block,” said SBA List president Marjorie Dannenfelser.

She said Fiorina is the perfect candidate for both pro-life advocates and Hispanic voters whose cultural and religious beliefs line up with Fiorina’s.

“We’ve been waiting for Carly Fiorina since the day Barbara Boxer was elected. Carly embraces and advances the rights of women and unborn children, following in the footsteps of the earliest women in politics. This is important to all Californians and especially to the Hispanic community," she said.

The $100,000 effort will include a bus tour to areas of high Hispanic population as well as a Google ad campaign targeting California Latino voters. Ads will target Hispanic voters concentrated in eight congressional districts with a heavy Hispanic population through a network blast using content searches and high-traffic websites to demographically target Latino web-users.

The Google ad campaign alone has the potential to reach a minimum of three million Hispanic voters, SBA informed LifeNews.com. Ads will appear in English or Spanish based on the language of the specific website or the individual’s browser language setting. The landing website will first appear in English with the option to translate the site into Spanish.

The SBA List Candidate Fund spent $215,000 in an independent expenditure campaign for Fiorina in the days leading up to the primary highlighting her strong leadership and pro-life stance through an aggressive online advertising and e-mail campaign, targeted calls to 600,000 registered voters and direct fundraising from its membership.

“Our concentrated efforts in this latest campaign aim to help Latino voters understand that there could be no greater contrast between Carly Fiorina and Barbara Boxer, who has continually imposed her increasingly unpopular pro-abortion agenda on her Latino constituents and on all Californians,” Dannenfelser said.

She added: “Paired with her consistently pro-abortion voting record, Boxer’s support for the federal health care bill including taxpayer-funded abortion should tell Latino voters everything they need to know about which candidate does and does not represent their views.”

Fiorina is challenging pro-abortion stalwart and 18-year incumbent Barbara Boxer in the November general election. Boxer holds a 0 percent NRLC voting record in the 111th Congress and has been one of the Senate’s most aggressive champions of abortion.
