Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) — Pro-life organizations in Missouri and Rhode island have issued endorsements for Congress in what appears will be an election cycle yielding tremendous success for the pro-life community. Missouri Right to Life and Rhode Island Right to Life are weighing in on two key races.

In Missouri, Right to Life has endorsed Ed Martin in his candidacy for Congress in Missouri’s 3rd district.

The pro-life group said Martin has long been an effective voice for the protection of innocent life.

As Director of the Human Rights Office for the Archdiocese of St. Louis, one of the youngest directors of his kind in the United States, Ed re-focused the office on the needs of families, neighborhoods, seniors, children, and the un-born.

And in an email to LifeNews.com, Martin said he has worked tirelessly to protect the unborn and stand up to the Planned Parenthood Federation of America abortion business.

Martin said Congressman Russ Carnahan, on the other hand, "proudly supports abortion of every type and believes taxpayer dollars should fund it."

"Carnahan voted to funnel federal dollars to Planned Parenthood. It’s not surprising that these votes benefited his family; Carnahan’s wife, Debra, presided for many years as a director of the national board of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America," he said.

“This is classic Washington, D.C. conduct – looking out for your own special interests. Not only is abortion immoral and wrong but voting to steer federal tax dollars to an organization which your wife has a vested interest is a conflict of interest and unethical," he said.

And in Rhode Island, Right to Life is supporting Dr. Ernest Greco for Congress in the 2nd congressional district.

Greco is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Roger Williams University and he Greco is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Roger Williams University and he formally announced his candidacy this past Saturday on Federal Hill.

He will take on Democrat Jim Langevin, who campaigned as a pro-life Democrat but has voted for abortion funding and embryonic stem cell research.

Barth Bracy told LifeNews.com he is “very excited” to support Greco.

“Ernie is a scholarly yet down-to-earth gentleman. His understanding of complex issues and his intense interest in serving the people of Rhode Island is apparent to anyone who has met him or heard him speak," Bracy said. "And as one of the original signatories of the R.I. Declaration on Life, Marriage, and
Religious Liberty, Ernie knows what being pro-life means and entails.”

Rhode Island Right to Life PAC chair Lisa Torrado spoke up as well.

“Ernie presents a real alternative to Democratic voters in Rhode Island’s 2nd Congressional District who are sick and tired of Jim Langevin’s broken promises and Betsy Dennigan’s ultra-liberal agenda. On September 14, we will finally be given a chance to vote for a Democrat who understands and represents the values of Rhode Island rather than those of Nancy Pelosi," she said.
