Barack Obama Gives Himself a B+ Grade, Pro-Life Leader Says F More Accurate

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) — President Barack Obama gives himself a B+ grade for his overall performance as president, but a pro-life leader says he deserves an F for his aggressive abortion promotion. Obama wasted little time after taking over the White House in sending tax dollars for abortions.
During an interview with Oprah Winfrey that aired Sunday night, Obama claimed he had made significant progress on economic and international fronts.
Obama said he would give himself "a good solid B-plus" grade for his first year in office.
He said the only thing that would keep him from giving himself a higher grade is that some parts of his agenda — including the passage of a pro-abortion government-run health care bill — remains incomplete.
Wendy Wright, the president of Concerned Women for America, told LifeNews.com she has a different grade in mind when it comes to Obama’s performance.
"To grade someone, you must first know what is the standard," she said.
"When it comes to abortion there is a clear consensus among Americans, which Obama reflected in his campaign rhetoric, that we want to reduce abortions to the point that no woman feels she needs one," Wright said.
"Regrettably, Obamas performance would fall in the failing category," Wright told LifeNews.com.
"One of his first official acts in office was to order that federal funding go to international abortion groups. Its been downhill from there. Every policy position, every legislative step, his administration has backed efforts that will increase abortions," she said. "Going even further, his positions would lead to forcing health care providers to commit abortions."
For Obama’s overall performance, Americans are less inclined to give him a passing grade.
Over the weekend, Obama’s approval numbers fell to new lows both Saturday and Sunday according to a Rasmussen Reports daily tracking poll.
Just 46% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President’s performance while 53 percent disapprove.
Looking at the most passionate voters, the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 23% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role while 42% Strongly Disapprove — giving Obama a -19 rating among the most intense voters. The 23% who Strongly Approve matches the lowest level of enthusiasm yet recorded.
And on abortion specifically, a February Gallup poll found Americans upset that Obama overturned a policy that prevented funding of groups that promote or perform abortions overseas. In overturning the Mexico City Policy, Obama reneged on his promise to reduce abortions as president.
Reacting to the decision in a poll conducted by the Gallup organization, 58 percent of Americans opposed Obama’s pro-abortion decision while just 35 percent supported it and 7 percent had no opinion.
Breaking down the new poll further, Gallup asked respondents to state their opinion on seven major actions President Obama has taken since becoming president. Overturning the Mexico City Policy engendered more opposition than any of the other actions and it had the lowest level of support.
