Pro-Life Women’s Group Backs Bill Bolling for Lieutenant Governor of Virginia

Richmond, VA (LifeNews.com) — The Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund, a national pro-life women’s political group, has announced its endorsement of Bill Bolling, the Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Virginia. Billing is seeking the state’s second highest post while pro-life advocate Bob McDonnell is running for governor.
SBA president Marjorie Dannenfelser contacted LifeNews.com about the endorsement.
"The Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund is proud to endorse Bill Bolling for Virginia’s Lieutenant Governor," she said.
"He is a proven, passionate advocate for women and the unborn, dedicated to fostering a culture of Life in Virginia. His record speaks for itself," she said. "From his support of Virginia’s commonsense ban on partial birth-abortion to his ardent support for de-funding America’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, Bolling delivers for the least among us."
Dannenfelser added, "Bill is a fervent pro-life advocate, and we are extremely pleased to support his candidacy for Lieutenant Governor of Virginia."
While serving as a state senator, Bolling supported parental rights across Virginia by advocating for parental notification and consent legislation.
Focusing on the safety of all women–born and unborn–Bill also fought for higher patient safety standards in abortion clinics and a ban on the gruesome partial birth abortion procedure.
As Lieutenant Governor, Bolling cast the tie-breaking vote that resulted in a ban for state funds to Planned Parenthood, the nation’s leading abortion business.
Bill Bolling is the current Lieutenant Governor of Virginia and the Republican incumbent running against Jody Wagner, who supports abortion. The Virginia elections are scheduled to be held on November 3.
The SBA List Candidate Fund supports pro-life women for elected office as well as pro-life men who face pro-abortion women candidates, especially those supported by Emily’s List — its pro-abortion counterpart.
"Susan B. Anthony List members are excited to support consistent pro-life heroes when they need it most," said Dannenfelser.
"Without our engagement and action, the results could be disastrous," she continued. "The lives of women and their unborn babies are on the line, and the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund is ready to defend them at the ballot box in Virginia and across the country."
The Susan B. Anthony List is named for the nation’s famous suffragist, who opposed abortion, calling it "child murder."
Her fellow suffragist, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, once remarked, "When we consider that women are treated as property, it is degrading to women that we should treat our children as property to be disposed of as we see fit."
