Madison, WI (LifeNews.com) — Wisconsin Right to Life is running new newspaper ads that spotlight the plan to begin doing late-term abortions at the Madison Surgery Center. The first ad urges patients to say "No" to medical treatment at the center by boycotting its services because of the abortion plan.

"Tens of thousands have already signed petitions protesting the late-term abortion plan," WRTL president Barbara Lyons told LifeNews.com.

"Current and prospective patients have changed their appointments and even their health care away from the Madison Surgery Center and the UW Health care system," Lyons added.

The ad, which is the first in a puissant series that will run in the Wisconsin State Journal. The first ad will appear today and the second ad will appear on Thursday, May 21.

That ad concentrates on the psychological impact of dismemberment abortions on those who participate in them.

The third ad will appear in the Journal on Thursday, May 28 and it focuses on what University of Wisconsin officials don’t want the public to know about the proposed late-term abortion center.

"The officials who made this horrendous decision reveal in their own emails that the ‘heat’ already generated is having an impact. Now we are taking the message to the public," Lyons told LifeNews.com.

Last week, Wisconsin Right to Life sponsored a sold-out event at the Inn on the Park in Madison that featured former late-term abortion practitioner Anthony Levatino and popular talk-show host Vicki McKenna that focused on the abortion plan.

"Thanks to the generosity of the people who attended the event last week, sufficient funds were raised for the first two ads," Lyons said. "We still need to raise $3200 for the third ad."

"Ideally, we would like to raise a total of $33,000 to match the dollars given to pro-abortion Gov. Jim Doyle by the ‘dean’ of Wisconsin abortionists, Dennis Christensen and his wife," Lyons said. "We must continue to put pressure on UW officials."
