Hernando, FL (LifeNews.com) — A Florida man who repeatedly sexually assaulted a teenage girl and took her for an abortion after getting her pregnant, now faces multiple charges. George Hendricks, 41, of Brooksville, faces 35 rape charges after multiple incidents of sexually abusing the young girl.

Hendricks was preparing to leave the state of Florida when authorities apprehended him last Wednesday in Jacksonville.

The victim has already spoken with police detectives and Hendricks’ confession matched her stories about the repeated abuse and trauma she faced from him.

The Hernando Today newspaper indicated the teenager lived with Hendricks when the alleged rapes began in November.

After getting the teenager pregnant, Hendricks reportedly took the teenager to Jacksonville for an abortion, and she signed his name on the parental consent form for the abortion.

The Florida Women’s Center and All Women’s Health Center of Jacksonville are two of the places where abortions are done in Jacksonville and there is no indication that staff asked the teenager whether she had been a victim of sexual assault.

The Today newspaper indicated that when the teen’s mother came to pick her up, on the day he took her for the abortion, Hendricks reportedly lied to her and said she had run away.

The mother filed a missing persons report and Hendricks is said to have told police officials the same story. However, the next day, a family member revealed the teen’s location to authorities.

When Hendricks decided to flee the state, he arranged to pick up the victim from where she was staying but was met by police instead.

Abortion centers have come under increasing scrutiny for covering up instances of sexual abuse and this case appears to be another in a long line of young women subjected to abortions instead of receiving help for their situations.
