Planned Parenthood End-of-Year Report Excludes Abortion, Has 3 Million Clients

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) — Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards emailed an end-of-year report to her supporters over the weekend and the nation’s largest abortion business conspicuously left out any mention of abortion. Richards bragged that Planned Parenthood had three million customers last year.
Planned Parenthood’s annual report, released in April at the end of its fiscal year, showed the number of abortions it does has gone up. It revealed roughly 25 percent of all abortions in the United States are done at Planned Parenthood centers.
But Richards leaves out abortion from her report entirely, other than to focus on how her organization’s state affiliates were able to defeat much of the pro-life legislation proposed in state legislatures across the country.
Richards had other topics to brag about — and focused on the promotion of birth control and contraception and the inclusion of legitimate medical services that provide Planned Parenthood with a more positive image covering up its true mission as an abortion business.
"I love my job. I especially love my job at this time of year, when we take stock of what we’ve accomplished as a result of your financial and activist support," Richards wrote.
"Part of what we accomplish is told in the sheer numbers," she added. "Three million that’s how many women, men, and teens walked through our doors to receive birth control and other medical services."
Some of the other highlights from Richards’ report include her bragging that Planned Parenthood "helped convince 11 more states decline federal abstinence-only funding, bringing the total to 26."
"We helped secure more money for family planning with the first serious funding increase for the Title X program ," she added about the taxpayer funding Planned Parenthood receives.
Richards also bragged that Planned Parenthood "led the opposition against the Bush administrations Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) regulation that would jeopardize womens health."
What Richards doesn’t tell her supporters is that the proposed regulation, which hasn’t officially been put in place, is merely an attempt to enforce existing laws that prevent the forcing of medical centers or staff to do abortions against their conscience.
This isn’t the first time Richards has bragged that Planned Parenthood is seeking to force medical professionals to do abortions against their will.
Richards also applauded Planned Parenthood for developing a pro-abortion agenda "that can be used by the Obama Administration to help ensure access to" abortion in the U.S. and around the world.
The worldwide abortion agenda, Richards explained, was aided by $2.5 million in grants to pro-abortion groups throughout in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean that are working to topple pro-life laws in nations in those regions.
The report also left out any mention of Planned Parenthood facilities covering up cases of statutory rape.
