Nevada Officials Will Charge Man in Attacking Pregnant Wife, Killing Baby

Las Vegas, NV (LifeNews.com) — Local authorities in Nevada will charge a man who is alleged to have killed his pregnant wife’s boyfriend and her unborn child with two crimes in the case.
They are taking advantage of an unborn victims law that is one of 35 in the nation holding criminals accountable for killing or injuring mother and child.
William John Keck, 25, stand accused of using a chainsaw to cut down the door to his estranged wife’s home and using a gun to kill her and her baby.
According to police, Keck fired several shots into Angelique Keck’s home that resulted in the death of her boyfriend, 26-year-old Jonathan Lestelle, and her unborn child.
Angelique Keck was reportedly injured in the attack but survived and is recovering at a local hospital.
Keck now faces charges of murder, attempted murder, and battery with a deadly weapon resulting in bodily harm, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The newspaper indicated District Attorney David Roger reviewed the case and will charge Keck with killing the unborn child under the unborn victims law.
Currently 35 states have such a law on the books and 25 of them offer protection and justice for women and their unborn children throughout pregnancy.
Nevada is one of the 10 that only offer that protection after the unborn baby reaches the point of viability and Nev. Rev. Stat. § 200.210, approved in 1997, calls the killing of an "unborn quick child" manslaughter.
