Barack Obama Won’t Yield on Promoting Abortion, Pro-Lifers Should Back McCain

I’m getting over the flu. And I am miserable.

It doesn’t help seeing the media’s love affair with Barack Obama. It doesn’t help that they’re letting him get away with whitewashing his record, especially on abortion.

This is a man who opposed the Illinois version of the Born Alive Infants Protection Act which was designed to protect all babies who are born alive—regardless of whether the birth resulted from an abortion. This is a man who thinks that a baby is a "burden."

This is a man who pledged before Planned Parenthood activists that the first thing he would do as President would be to sign the Freedom of Choice Act or FOCA. FOCA would entrench the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade into U.S. law. It would also reverse many pro-life laws on the books.

The media and many voters think he’s going to help our nation?

When a candidate for office thinks that the weakest members of our society are irrelevant and disposable, we have an obligation to vote against that man or woman.

We cannot sit idly by while U.S. Supreme Court nominees are picked from among liberal judges and attorneys. We cannot sit idly by while important pro-life legislation is overturned. We cannot sit idly by while pro-life White House policies are reversed with the stroke of a pen.

If you don’t believe me, believe Mr. Obama:

"There will always be people, many of goodwill, who do not share my view on the issue of choice. On this fundamental issue, I will not yield and Planned Parenthood will not yield."

There are voters who have persuaded themselves that Barack Obama is willing to make compromises on abortion, but it’s not true. Mr. Obama is a champion of the left and the pro-abortion establishment. He is not going to make a right turn when he gets into office.

I will be voting this November 4th for John McCain and Sarah Palin because I know that, with a McCain/Palin Presidency, pro-life policies will be preserved and protected.

I also know that I have to answer to God and I am reminded of something the late pro-life champion Congressman Henry Hyde used to say:

When the time comes as it surely will, when we face that awesome moment, the final judgment, I’ve often thought, as Fulton Sheen wrote, that it is a terrible moment of loneliness. You have no advocates, you are there alone standing before God – and a terror will rip through your soul like nothing you can imagine. But I really think that those in the pro-life movement will not be alone. I think there will be a chorus of voices that have never been heard in this world but are heard beautifully and clearly in the next world – and they will plead for everyone who has been in this movement. They will say to God, ‘Spare him because he loved us,’ – and God will look at you and say not, ‘Did you succeed?’ but ‘Did you try?’

I will try. Will you?
