Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) — Planned Parenthood of America, the nation’s largest abortion business, has come out against three statewide ballot proposals that deal with abortion. The pro-abortion group emailed its supporters over the weekend attacking the efforts in California, Colorado, and South Dakota.

The abortion business also went further, calling the pro-life advocates in each of the three states "extremists" for promoting the protection of human life.

In California, pro-life advocates have put a measure allowing for parental notification before an abortion on the state ballot. Colorado voters will consider a personhood measure that defines human life as beginning at conception and South Dakota voters will consider a second attempt at banning most abortions.

"The same anti-choice extremists who are trumpeting the McCain/Palin ticket are behind several outrageous initiatives in states across the country," Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards said in the email.

"I’m talking about Colorado, where — get this — a small group of extremists has put an initiative on the ballot that would amend the state constitution to grant due process and equality of justice rights to embryos from the moment of fertilization," she said.

Richards calls protecting human life at its beginning an "unbelievable" concept.

"On top of that, South Dakota is facing another outrageous attempt to ban most abortions, and California is fighting a restrictive parental notification law for the third time," she complains.

Richards is worried that abortion advocates are so focused on promoting pro-abortion presidential candidate Barack Obama that they are forgetting about these three state battles.

"With so much attention understandably focused on the national election, our colleagues and volunteers in Colorado, California, and South Dakota are hurting," she says.

That brings Richards to the focus of the email — raising funds to defeat the three pro-life measures.

"As important as the presidential campaign is to all of us, for people in these three states, the stakes are even higher in this election," she explains.

For unborn children in all three states, the stakes are the highest.
