Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) — Chalk up another member of the cast of the popular television show, and recent movie, Sex and the City to the pro-abortion agenda. Actor David Eigenberg, who plays bartender Steve Brady on the program, stumped for Barack Obama this weekend and said he backs abortion.

Eigenberg hadn’t been politically active until recently, when he learned that Obama is pro-abortion — a position that matches his own.

The actor campaigned for the presidential hopeful in Wisconsin over the weekend, and joined pro-abortion Rep. Betty McCollum of Minnesota and NARAL president Nancy Keenan for an event.

"I don’t stump for anybody, and I don’t come out here with an entourage of PR people," he told the Madison Capital Times after the event with 60 people. "I’m here because I’m so excited about Barack Obama."

Eigenberg’s wife is pregnant with his 18-week-old unborn child and he is a brother to five sisters, but the actor admitted he takes a pro-abortion view and that he appreciates Obama’s views — which call for keeping abortion legal in all cases throughout pregnancy and funded with taxpayer dollars.

"When somebody gets behind women’s issues like Barack has, it tells me one thing about the person," Eigenberg said to the Madison newspaper. "I know immediately that they are not here to judge the individual; they are here to accept everyone as human beings and the decisions that they’ve made in their lives, and the decisions they’re going to make in their lives."

Eigenberg’s abortion advocate is no surprise, given the pro-abortion views of actress Kristen Davis and the criticism the Sex and the City television show endured previously.

In February 2004, the racy series held a charity auction consisting of clothing worn by the stars on the set.

However, some of the proceeds from the event benefited Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion business. Davis, who plays the mild-mannered Charlotte, designated Planned Parenthood as her charity recipient.

Marla Weinstein, Davis’ publicist, told LifeNews.com at the time that Davis "feels that women should retain the right to choose what happens to their bodies themselves."
