Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) — Sarah Palin and her family have earned tremendous praise and respect from pro-life groups for their decisions against having abortions when confronted with a disabled unborn child and when Palin’s oldest daughter learned she was pregnant. Now, a group that advocates for women who regret their abortions is applauding as well.

"As women who have experienced the devastating emotional, psychological, and physical consequences of abortion, we applaud Governor Palin’s pro-life decisions in every respect," says Lisa Dudley.

Dudley is the director of outreach for Operation Outcry, a group that brought post-abortive women together to advocate for the reversal of Roe v. Wade and the passage of pro-life laws to reduce abortions.

While Dudley’s group doesn’t endorse candidates and get directly involved in elections, “we are women who as individuals know firsthand the pain of abortion,” she tells LifeNews.com.

“We are very happy that Governor Palin has offered to love and support her daughter in her unplanned pregnancy and chose life for her own beautiful baby, Trig,” she said.

Rebecca Porter, an Operation Outcry leader in Florida who confronted pro-abortion presidential candidate John Kerry about her abortion regret during the 2004 campaign, referred to comments Barack Obama made in praising the Palins.

"Governor Palin has shown great respect for the gift of life in the birth of her own children. Children are a blessing from God, not a punishment,” she said.

Many of the women of Operation Outcry, such as Ava Fulmer, were forced by their parents to have abortions. Ava’s father forced her to have an abortion of her twins as a teenager.

Other women such as Kelly Roy, who heads the organization’s campus outreach, chose abortion at a very young age, and now they deeply regret those decisions.

"That is why I am so appreciative of Governor Palin supporting her daughter’s decision to choose life,” Roy says.

The group also educates women and their families on the kind of problems abortion causes — ranging from physical and medical complications to mental health and familial issues.

Operation Outcry is the project of The Justice Foundation, a pro-life law firm, to end legal abortion by exposing the truth about its devastating impact on women, men and families.

Operation Outcry is working to restore justice and to protect women, men and children from the destruction that abortion causes by assisting, encouraging and training women and others to speak out in the public arena.

The group is presently collecting declarations from women and men hurt by abortion to use as evidence in courts and legislatures.
