Lincoln, NE (LifeNews.com) — Nebraska voters head to the polls to select state and federal candidates in party primaries and the state’s top pro-life group has published a new guide. Nebraska Right to Life’s voter guide features the endorsements the group has made for the House and Senate, state offices and the state legislature.

The marquee race in Nebraska is the contest to replace retiring pro-life Sen. Chuck Hagel and NRL says Republicans Pat Flynn and Mike Johanns are worthy of support.

None of the candidates seeking the Democratic nod for the race received the pro-life group’s endorsement.

In Congressional races, each of the three House incumbents — Reps. Jeff Fortenberry, Lee Terry and Adrian Smith — have strong pro-life voting records and are endorsed for additional terms.

Julie Schmit-Albin, the group’s executive director told LifeNews.com Friday that candidates, elected officials, the media and voters all respect and appreciate an endorsement from Nebraska Right to Life.

"Nebraska Right to Life PAC is recognized by the state’s major media as one of the top three PACs that conservatives want an endorsement from," she said.

Part of the respect comes from the tens of thousands of voter guides that direct voters to pro-life candidates and have the potential to make or break a campaign.

"We attribute that to our hundreds of volunteers who lit-drop thousands of Voter Guides in every election, she said. "Candidates know that NRL PAC’s volunteers will get the Voter Guides in the hands of targeted pro-life voters."

NRL also made endorsements for the state legislature, Board of Regents, and Board of Education.

The candidates’ responses to survey questions, the endorsement designations and the criteria for endorsements will all be printed on the group’s voter guide.
