Trenton, NJ (LifeNews.com) — Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee continues to rack up endorsements from statewide pro-life organizations in advance of the Super Tuesday primary. While John McCain and Mitt Romney are campaigning as opponents of abortion, the groups say Huckabee is the strongest pro-life candidate.

Marie Tasy, the director of New Jersey Right to Life, told LifeNews.com on Monday that her group’s political action committee has endorsed Huckabee.

"After careful consideration of all the candidates’ positions, New Jersey Right to Life PAC has decided to endorse Mike Huckabee for President. Mike Huckabee is the only Republican candidate that is solidly pro-life," Tasy said.

"We encourage all of our members and supporters and everyone who is truly interested in advancing a culture of life that seeks protection for every member of the human family, from the moment of fertilization until natural death, to vote for Mike Huckabee on Tuesday," Tasy added.

The pro-life group pointed to a laundry list of pro-life positions of Huckabee’s that impressed it.

New Jersey Right to Life cited Huckabee’s views in favor of a federal Human Life Amendment, his belief that Roe v. Wade should be overturned and his support for the Supreme Court’s decision upholding the ban on partial-birth abortions as key reasons for the endorsement.

The organization also cited Huckabee’s opposition to embryonic stem cell research as an additional reason.

"I support and have always supported passage of a constitutional amendment to protect the right to life," Huckabee as said. "As President, I will fight for passage of this amendment."
