Orlando, FL (LifeNews.com) — A national group for Christian doctors and dentists will hold its annual meeting in Orlando this week and there they will discuss a number of key pro-life issues. The Christian Medical & Dental Associations feature 16,000 members from across the country who take solid pro-life positions when it comes to abortion and bioethics topics.

Ruth Graham, daughter of Ruth and Billy Graham, British minister Rev. Rico Tice, and top doctors and scholars will address the participants.

The conference features workshops on such issues as conscience rights for medical professions to opt out of doing abortions or participating in promoting drugs like the morning after pill.

Other forums will be held on helping elderly and ill patients and combating the perceived need for assisted suicide and there will be educational presentations on bioethical issues like stem cell research and human cloning.

"This year’s convention combines education with spiritual renewal," said David Stevens, MD, the head of the pro-life doctors group.

"In this day and time in healthcare, it is easy to get to a point of professional ‘burnout.’ We strive to challenge and inspire members while providing a respite and fellowship for doctors and their families who attend," he told LifeNews.com.

The convention will begin on Wednesday, June 20 and will continue until Sunday, June 24 at the Buena Vista Palace & Resort located in Orlando.
