Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) — Pro-life groups are slated to hold their third Justice Sunday event this Sunday to urge pro-life advocates to pay attention to and get involved in the political process.
Greater Exodus Baptist Church in Philadelphia will host Family Research Council’s simulcast television program, "Justice Sunday III – Proclaim Liberty Throughout the Land."
The program will broadcast live in churches across the nation via Sky Angel satellite in addition to airing on hundreds of radio and Christian TV stations.
Some of the featured speakers at the event include Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family, pro-life Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania, and Dr. Alveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Wendy Christian with the Family Research Council says the vent is a good way for churches to get involved.
“We provide opportunity for churches all across America to tune in to the simulcast so that they can be aware of how important some of the judicial decisions that are made, the confirmation process for judicial nominees, and how important it is that we be involved in the entire process," she told Family News in Focus.
Bruce Hausknecht with Focus on the Family told FNIF he hopes the broadcast will be a reminder about the importance of the courts on key pro-life issues.
“By putting judicial activists on the bench in the past we have been the victims of decisions proclaiming a right to abortion," he said. "With conservatives on the bench we can leave the lawmaking to the legislatures of the states and to Congress where the responsibility belongs.”
