Sacramento, CA (LifeNews.com) — Leading pro-life celebrities are coming out in full force behind a statewide measure California voters will consider tomorrow that would require parental notification for a teen’s abortion. The luminaries are urging voters to approve Proposition 73, which polls show will likely be approved.

"As a parent, I can’t think of anything more important than the welfare of our children," says Patricia Heaton, star of the hit comedy series "Everybody Loves Raymond."

"Prop 73 will mean that parents who have their daughter’s best interests at heart, and who know her medical history better than anyone else, will be involved in critical health care decisions for her," Heaton, honorary chairwoman of Feminists for Life, added.

Nationally syndicated radio talk show host Dr. Laura Schlessinger says she already voted for the measure through absentee voting.

"I urge everyone who cares about children to do the same," she added.

Actor and comedian Ben Stein joined Heaton, Schlessinger, and talk radio host Laura Ingraham in recording a radio spot that has been aired on stations across the state.

Meanwhile, actor Patrick Warburton, concerned for the safety of his children, especially his young daughter, warns parents in a video statement that, "California law currently allows someone other than a parent to take a child, a girl as young as 12 years of age, to go and get an abortion without the parents knowing anything about this."

"This means that your neighbor, a teacher, an older boyfriend, a sexual predator — can legally take your 12-year-old daughter to go and get an abortion, a secret, confidential abortion," he explains.

Like many parents, Warburton believes this is wrong. He wants to change the law to protect young girls and restore parents’ rights.

Warburton adds, "I can tell you as a father, who loves his daughter more than anything in the world, I will vote YES on 73 come Tuesday, November 8th. I hope that you do too."
