Lansing, MI (LifeNews.com) — Right to Life of Michigan is aggressively seeking to promote adoption in their state with a statewide television campaign featuring three new commercials touting the abortion alternative.
"Too many women have been sold abortion as the only choice when faced with an untimely pregnancy," said a RTLM announcement. "One toll-free phone call can make a lifetime of difference to a birth mother, adoptive family and child who has the gift of life."
The campaign will run for ten weeks across the state beginning January 19, with priority given to those areas where the abortion rate is highest, targeting women who have found themselves facing a crisis pregnancy. They will air on several networks, including NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, UPN and WB, with a few additional cable station carrying the ad in the Detroit area. The ads will appear throughout late January, February and March on daytime talk shows, situation comedies and early and late news programs.
The three 30-second spots, entitled The Answer, Courage and Mother of My Child, were paid for by the Right to Life of Michigan Education Fund and were produced by Hanon-McKendry, a Grand Rapids-based advertising agency. The ads have been promoted at RTLM affiliate special events in the fall of 2003.
The Answer, and Courage feature young women struggling with untimely pregnancies, and presents adoption as a positive solution. Both ads feature the Right to Life of Michigan Education Fund’s toll free crisis line number, 1-800-57WOMAN.
Mother of My Child also strives to foster positive views of adoption, by featuring a collage of women expressing gratitude for the gift of their adopted child, and gratefulness to the women who chose adoption.
The adoption television campaign will air on most network television stations across the state including NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, UPN and WB. Additional cable stations have also been purchased throughout the Detroit viewing area. Watch for the ads to appear throughout late January, February and March on daytime talk shows, situation comedies and early and late news programs.
"Each day we need to applaud women who choose adoption and life for their unborn children," said RTLM. "Placing a child for adoption is not easy; it displays courage and should be commended."
