Bowie,
MD (LifeNews.com) -- A pregnancy center in Bowie, Maryland that
offers women abortion alternatives and pregnancy resources was vandalized
on Saturday. The day marked the 32nd anniversary of the Supreme Court's
Roe v. Wade decision that legalized unlimited abortion.
Executive Director Pamela Palumbo of the Bowie-Crofton Pregnancy Clinic told the Associated Press that the vandals smashed windows of the clinic's office and spray-painted graffiti on the office walls with pro-abortion messages.
The nonprofit group provides medial referrals, baby clothes and pregnancy-related items, counseling and sonograms to pregnant women.
Palumbo told AP that more than half of the office's windows were broken and shattered.
She indicated the sidewalks and walls were spray-painted with words like "Choice" and phrases like "Womyn Haters."
Police say no arrests have been made in the case.
Two other Maryland pregnancy centers were vandalized last year.
Someone broke into the main office of the Gabriel
Project in Bowie May 24 and caused between $10-20,000 in damage by smashing
windows, destroying computers, dumping food items from the refrigerator
on walls and carpets, and spraying a dry-chemical fire extinguisher
throughout the building.
The vandals also stole approximately $500 from the office's petty cash
box.
The Bowie-Crofton Pregnancy Clinic, before the
incident, received a suspicious call from a man who wanted to "vandalize
Gabriel Project signs."
Pregnancy Center West, in Cantonsville, was also vandalized.
Unable to gain entry to the building, an air conditioning unit was damaged and two offices were flooded via hoses from outside.
