Bloomington, IN (LifeNews.com) -- The Indiana Department of Child Services is joining local prosecutors in Bloomington by ignoring the expose' last week that showed a staff member at Planned Parenthood of Indiana covering up an alleged case of statutory rape. The agency says it won't take any action against the abortion business.

As LifeNews.com originally reported, a UCLA college student engaged in an undercover video expose' that had her posing as an underage teen.

Student Lila Rose says she told a Planned Parenthood official, who has since been placed on unpaid leave by the abortion business, that she had sex with a man nearly twice her age.

Despite the consent, the sexual encounter clearly violated the state's laws concerning statutory rape. The Planned Parenthood official told Rose she didn't want to know about the age discrepancy and apparently did not report the case to authorities as required by state law.

Steve Vaughn, director of the Indiana Department of Child Services, told the Indiana Daily Student newspaper that the agency will do nothing about the incident since a minor girl was not actually involved.

“Since there was no minor involved, that takes us out of the picture,” he said.

Vaughn told the IDS that, had the situation involved an actual teenager, the department would target the employee for potential prosecution not Planned Parenthood.

Failure to report the crime is a misdemeanor punishable under state law by a maximum of 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine and the county prosecutor's office could file charges in the case but a Bloomington city official told a newspaper that won't happen.

Meanwhile, Kate Shepherd, spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood, said the internal investigation has not been completed but the employee, named as "Diana" in the video, remains on unpaid suspension.

The video also showed the Planned Parenthood staffer showing Rose how she could evade Indiana's parental involvement law by seeking an abortion in Illinois.

The Planned Parenthood facility in question is the same business that issued Christmas gift certificates that could be used to pay for abortions.
