Hyannis, MA (LifeNews.com) -- The abortion practitioner responsible for killing a young woman in a botched legal abortion has seen a state health board revoke his medical license. Laura Smith, a 22-year-old from Honduras, died in September after getting an abortion from Rapin Osathanondh at the Women's Health Center abortion business.

According to a blog post by pro-life advocate Jill Stanek, Eileen Smith, Laura's mother, indicated the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine revoked Osathanondh's license.

Smith indicated officials told her they did so "because they view him as a risk to public safety."

Stanek indicates that the decision is effective until the board holds an official hearing in the case.

Smith also told Stanek that the Boston Medical Examiner's Office finally released papers showing the cause of death despite the fact that Laura Smith died from the legal abortion five months ago.

Officials say Smith died from "cardiac pulmonary arrest during anesthesia during a voluntary termination of pregnancy" -- an evaluation Eileen Smith has been trying to get officials to understand.

Smith told Stanek that she finally feels government officials are giving her daughter some justice after months of waiting for the mainstream media to even report on Laura's death.

As LifeNews.com first reported, a pro-life group obtained records from emergency services in Massachusetts that reveal the callousness abortion business staff had towards Laura's situation.

Smith has pursued legal action against Osathanondh but her case was awaiting the autopsy report.
