Lauren M. Gash, 19, of Odessa and 17 year-old Alisa D. Betts of Atchison, Kansas, were arraigned on Tuesday on the charges.
The allegedly kidnapped the pregnant woman and took her to a local hotel, but police arrived on the scene in time to stop them from carrying through with their plan when hotel workers hear the woman's screams and called for help.
According to police documents obtained by Fox News channel 4, Gash and Betts met the woman on MySpace.com, a popular web site for teenagers and young adults.
They lured the young women in a car and took her to a motel in the Kansas City suburb of Blue Springs. Police found one of the suspects with the victim and did not say how far along the young woman was in her pregnancy.
This is the second such case in the region after 39 year-old Lisa Montgomery of Melvern, Kansas was charged in the 2004 death of Bobbie Jo Stinnett, who Montgomery killed at her home when Stinnett was eight months pregnant.
Like Gash, who had been telling family members she was pregnant and then had a baby at a hospital in another city, Montgomery claimed Stinnett's baby as her own.
Montgomery
has plead not guilty and her trial is slated for October 1.
