Father Wanting Baby Just Minutes Late From Stopping Partner's Abortion
Wichita, KS (LifeNews.com) --
Pro-life advocates who sidewalk counselor outside the late-term abortion center run by George Tiller in Kansas sent LifeNews.com the following report recently: “A sixteen year old girl from Andover, Kansas, was bought into Tiller's today by her mother, in a car with Butler County, Kansas tags at about 11:am. The girl was two months pregnant, and the mother (grandmother) had scheduled an early-term abortion for her daughter. The teenaged daughter did not want the abortion, but her mother was forcing her into it. In the early afternoon, in a separate vehicle, the father of the child, a young man named Dillon, also sixteen years old, came into Tiller's parking lot, driving a car with a personalized tag, (tag information is on file) in an attempt to save the life of his child. Dillon came to the gate to get help and advice from the pro-life counselors on-site. He told Jennifer that his parents were willing to raise the baby, or adopt the baby, or do whatever they could to help him and his girlfriend. Dillon said that he planned to marry the mother of his baby, as soon as they graduated from high school, and that his parents were supportive of this idea. Dillon said that it was only his girlfriend's mother who wanted her to have the abortion, and that she had threatened to disown his girlfriend if she did not go through with the abortion. Jennifer sent the boy into Tiller's to talk to the girl, to let her know, that all she had to do, was to say that she did not want to have the abortion, and at that point, KCFL could call the police, and that the Police would intervene on her behalf. However, about thirty minutes after going into Tiller's building, both the mother and daughter, and Dillon came to the gate, leaving Tiller's parking lot in their cars. The young girl was crying, but the mother who was driving did not stop at the gate. Dillon stopped at the gate and he was crying too. He said that he had gotten there just a few minutes too late. The baby was already dead when they finally let him talk to his girlfriend.”

Catholic Pro-Life Group Responds to Naming Pro-Abortion UN Human Rights Chief
New York, NY (LifeNews.com) --
A leading Catholic pro-life group that lobbies at the United Nations is upset that a pro-abortion South African judge is expected to become the next human rights chief at the United Nations. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon last week named Navanethem Pillay to the position. Samantha Singson of the Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute says it opposes “Pillay’s nomination to the top human rights post because of her strong support for abortion.” She writes in the group’s Friday Fax that Pillay is a founding member of the international non-governmental organization Equality Now, a group that has spearheaded campaigns for abortion access in Poland and Nepal. “Pillay remains on the board of the organization which receives major funding from pro-abortion foundations including George Soros’ Open Society Institute and the Ford Foundation,” she explains. Singson goes on to say that, “Pillay has been a favorite among women’s groups and is consistently endorsed by feminist NGOs for top level jobs at the UN, including Secretary General. Radical feminist NGOs first endorsed Pillay for the High Commissioner on Human Rights post four years ago, but the job went to Canada’s Louise Arbour.” Critics are concerned that Pillay will adopt the same positions on social issues as her predecessors, Arbour and Ireland’s Mary Robinson. Both Arbour and Robinson support abortion as a human right.

St. Louis Planned Parenthood Holds Pro-Life Truck With Abortion Signs Hostage
St. Louis, MO (LifeNews.com) --
Operation Rescue's Truth Truck, driven by Mark Gietzen, caused a stir the St. Louis Planned Parenthood abortion center last week when he drove onto their parking lot and parked near the front door as abortion-bound women entered the facility. Security guards for Planned Parenthood immediately rushed to close the parking lot's iron gates to prevent the Truth Truck from leaving while they summoned the police. But this action turned out for the good, allowing the Truth Truck to witness to the women in the parking lot for longer than it would have otherwise. Gietzen was convinced that his actions were completely legal. "They did not have the proper signage to keep me off the lot," he said. Apparently the police agreed. Officers made the Planned Parenthood security guards open the gate and allow the Truth Truck to leave as over 300 pro-lifers cheered. "You would think if Planned Parenthood didn't want their patients to see the Truth Truck, they would have let Mark drive on, instead of holding him hostage," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. "By locking the Truth Truck into their parking lot, they were accomplishing our work for us.”
