Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- The Obama administration will host a conference call on Friday, featuring players on both sides of the abortion divide, with the goal of finding ways to reduce abortions. However, the three Obama aides conducing in the conference call include two longtime pro-abortion activists.

With an air of change, the election of President Barack Obama was supposed to usher in an era of reduced abortions.

Yet, Obama has compiled a strong pro-abortion record that has seen him put abortion advocates in key policy positions and fund groups that promote abortions overseas.

The call is supposed to focus on "using teen pregnancy prevention and assistance to pregnant women to reduce abortion" a U.S. News report indicates.

The conference call may be Obama's first attempt to spark a discussion or way to save face with voters he has turned off with his advocacy, but whether it will work is another question.

Obama aides who will be directing the conference call include Domestic Policy Council Director Melody Barnes, who served on the board of directors of Emily's List, a group that has spent nearly $250 million promoting pro-abortion candidates.

Barnes also served a stint as a member of the board of directors of Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion business that brought in over $1 billion in income the last fiscal year.

Tina Tchen, the new director of the White House Council on Women and Girls that Obama recently created, will also be on the line.

Tchen previously served as the vice president of the National Organization for Women, a prominent pro-abortion organization.

The third Obama aide on the call is Joshua DuBois, the director of the Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, which features some abortion advocates.

The White House faith office is the main group behind the call and it has reportedly been waiting for the Council on Women and Girls to be established before rolling out the supposed abortion reduction plan in earnest.

The conference call follows a meeting several pro-life advocates had with Dubois, that was described as friendly but producing little results.

Wendy Wright, the president of Concerned Women for America, joined with other pro-life advocates in meeting with the Obama official and she presented concrete ways pro-life groups and pregnancy centers have been reducing abortions.

If any of those methods are trumpeted during the conference call, pro-life observers may see it as a measure of success.
