Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Pro-abortion activists are being accused of preventing pro-life people from asking incoming president Barack Obama to change his position on signing the so-called Freedom of Choice Act. That's the bill to make unlimited abortions a national law and overturn hundreds of pro-life state laws.

The official Obama web site has a feature that allows people to ask policy questions and for visitors to vote on the ones they most think Obama should answer.

A pro-life advocate named Justin Taylor from Wheaton, Illinois submitted a question that read: "Would you consider rescinding your promise to sign the Freedom of Choice Act, given your desire to reduce abortions and to seek common ground, and in light of the fact that it would invalidate every measure and law intended to reduce abortions?"

He called on pro-life advocates to vote for his question so Obama would be prompted to answer it.

Blogger Michele McGinty, wrote that it appears abortion advocates voted the question down to prevent it from getting the new president's attention.

"The abortion zealots have flagged it as inappropriate (they can't stand free speech)," she writes. "You can still vote for the other similarly worded questions(until the abortion zealots get to it)."

"You have to sign up but it's worth it. Let your voice be heard (if anyone's listening and it's not a gimmick to get our email addresses so he can send us appeals for donations)," she added.

Obama originally made his promise to sign the radical pro-abortion bill in July 2007 at a speech before Planned Parenthood officials.

"The first thing I'd do as president is, is sign the Freedom of Choice Act," Obama said.
