Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Planned Parenthood is the leading abortion business in the United States, doing more than 25 percent of the abortions nationwide and bringing in more than $1 billion in revenue the last fiscal year. Yet a new television ad the abortion business is running has nothing to do with abortion.

Instead, Planned Parenthood is attacking presidential candidate John McCain for declining to answer a question on whether health insurance plans that cover Viagra should also cover birth control.

"John McCain is out of touch when it comes to women's health care," Cecile Richards, president of the pro-abortion group, said in a statement about the new ad.

"Birth control is basic health care for women. But, John McCain ducked a straightforward question about whether he thinks insurance companies should cover birth control, like they do Viagra," she said.

The ad likely doesn't cover abortion because John McCain, unlike the Planned Parenthood-endorsed candidate Barack Obama, is in league with most Americans on the issue.

He opposes taxpayer funding of abortion and has backed bills to ban partial-birth abortions and ensure that parents have input when their teenager daughter is considering an abortion.

Obama has also been called on the carpet for repeatedly opposing a bill when he was in the Illinois legislature that would have provided adequate medical care for newborns who survive botched abortions.

The ad has yet to have been seen 4,000 times after its placement on the popular video sharing web site YouTube.

The abortion business plans to run it during the season premiere of “Project Runway,” on Bravo, Lifetime’s “Army Wives,” and “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in some markets.

It will run in top battleground states such as Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, New Mexico, Ohio, and Wisconsin, as well as in the Washington, D.C. area.

Planned Parenthood made no mention of whether other more serious medical conditions should receive priority in medial insurance coverage over birth control.
