Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A pro-life group that monitors charitable involvement with abortion businesses and pro-abortion organizations has published a new report criticizing Rotary International. Life Decisions International says Rotary has ties with groups that promote both abortion and population control.

LDI's new report points to Rotary ties with the United Nations Children's Fund and the United Nations Population Fund.

In 2003, Rotary created the Rotarian Fellowship for Population and Development (RFPD) to "support Rotary club projects that address population and development issues."

RFPD provides grants to Rotary clubs for work on "population" issues.

"With one hand Rotary Clubs are helping save the lives of children by inoculating them against polio," LDI president Douglas Scott told LifeNews.com. "With the other hand Rotary Clubs are working with population control agencies to advance the 'culture of death.'"

"This is no different than a hospital that commits abortions on one floor and has an advanced prenatal unit on another," he added. "It's another example of society's schizophrenia when it comes to how we treat preborn human life."

Representatives of Rotary International did not return two requests for comment from LifeNews.com for this news story.

LDI's new report discusses the organization's famous "Four-Way Test."

Adopted by Rotary International in 1943, The Four-Way Test consists of four questions that business people should apply to everything they "think, say or do."

The questions center on truth and fairness and good relationships with everyone involved.

With Rotary's connection with the pro-abortion organizations, Scott urges pro-life people to disassociate with the group until the ties are cut.

"It would be impossible for any person with an intact conscience to turn a blind eye to Rotary's ungodly associations and population control programs," he said.

"One may offer up any excuse or justification he or she desires, but there is no way that anyone who truly cares about human life, born and preborn, could be associated with Rotary International," Scott concluded.
