Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Parents who are concerned about knowing whether their daughters are considering an abortion are hoping the Supreme Court will consider their views as it prepares to hear a case regarding a New Hampshire parental notification law on Wednesday.

Eileen Roberts, the president of Mothers and Advocates for Mothers Alone, understands the pain parents face when they find out about their daughter having an abortion after the fact.

Eileen's 14-year-old daughter underwent an abortion without her knowledge and suffered physical and emotional consequences. Eileen had to sign a consent form for follow-up surgery to repair the damage done by the abortion practitioner without her knowing.

The medical bills from the botched abortion totaled $27,000.

"Hopefully, this time the Supreme Court will allow parents the right to know their daughter is seeking an abortion and let us put our arms around our daughters and say I love you, we can work this out together," Roberts said.

"The case before the Supreme Court is not a case of abortion rights but a case of parental rights," Roberts explained. "Parental notification laws do not take away a women's right to an abortion, it simply protects our daughters from the harms of surgery, just as it does for an appendectomy and ear piercing."

Wendy Wright, executive vice president for Concerned Women for America, agrees.

"New Hampshire's parental notification law would save teenagers from having to face a life-altering decision in secret, separated from their parents by abortionists who profit only if they choose to end their child's life," Wright said.

"Parental notification and consent laws are wildly popular with Americans, with polls showing support at 70 to 80 percent," Wright added.

"Parents have their daughter's best interest at heart, know her medical history and are critical for follow-up care, especially when a girl suffers complications from an abortion," Wright explained.
