New York, NY (LifeNews.com) -- A group of women who have been hurt by abortion will take their message to the United Nations this week. The group of women, hailing from Canada, know the firsthand pain and experience of abortion and they will share with international leaders the negative impact abortion has had on their lives and bodies.

This team of women from Canada Silent No More are participating in a workshop at the United Nations' 51st Conference on the Status of Women, which begins Tuesday.

The priority theme for the 2007 CSW is The Elimination of all forms of discrimination and violence against women and the Canadian women will discuss the violence of abortion and how it damaged their lives and countless others.

"Induced abortion is the greatest crime against women and children in this generation," Denise Mountenay, the group's founder and president, said in a statement LifeNews.com obtained.

"Our mission is to expose the lies and rhetoric of the abortion advocates and providers and help, educate and empower women on the benefits of motherhood," she added.

The women will participate in a workshop entitled, "Breast Cancer & Reproductive HEALTH" which also features Dr. Angela Lanfranchi, a New Jersey breast cancer surgeon, and Dr. Joel Brind, an endocrinologist from Baruch College in New York.

The pair are the co-founders of the Breast Cancer Prevention Institute and they will discuss the leading research showing a link between abortion and breast cancer.

"Many studies prove that abortion damages women physically and emotionally yet is ignored by the government, media and our culture," says Mountenay.

She said she's confident that, as more and more women share their pain of abortion, the CSW should call upon governments to strengthen their laws and enforcement against sex selected abortion and sexual exploitation of women and girls.

The team of women has experienced abortion and count themselves as expert witnesses to the physical, emotional and psychological pain and suffering that abortion causes.
