Terri Schiavo's Hospice Nurses Want Her to Die, Dissenter Fired

Pinellas Park, FL (LifeNews.com) -- A nurse at Woodside Hospice, where Terri has lived for years, says that other nurses at the facility support Terri Schiavo's painful starvation death. The nurse indicated she was fired for objecting and refusing to keep quit about what she saw.

Nora Lynn Wagner told ABC Radio host Sean Hannity, "[My agency] said that if I went to the media at all that I would be fired."

"I said, 'Well, then -- consider me fired,'" Wagner told agency officials.

Wagner did not identify the nursing agency, but said it wanted her to keep quiet about events at Woodside Hospice because it has an ongoing contract with the facility.

Working last weekend, after Terri's feeding tube had been removed on Friday afternoon, Wagner said other nurses circulated a petition opposing Congressional efforts to prevent Terri's death.

"Most everyone who spoke up thought that pulling the tube" was the right thing to do, because 'Terri wouldn't want to live like that,'" Wagner told Hannity.

Wagner said she refused to sign the petition and had a "healthy debate" with fellow workers. However, that generated a call from the agency.

"Apparently some people got upset and Monday afternoon at 3:30 I got a call from my agency saying that I was no longer to go back to Woodside," Wagner said on the ABC radio network show.

Wagner confirmed to Hannity that Terri was not receiving any rehabilitative care.

"I believe that was stopped a long time ago," she said.

She also indicated that Terri "seemed to have responded to me" in her attempts to interact with her.
